For every song Joseph Arthur has released in a critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated career that has spanned nine full-length albums and 11 EPs, he's probably kept three others in the vault for safekeeping.
It was amid this abundance of riches that the Brooklyn-by way of Ohio-native began molding a collection of music under a single narrative thread: The Ballad of Boogie Christ (June 11 / Lonely Astronaut Records), described by Arthur as "a fictionalized character loosely based on my own journey."

 Joseph has launched a PledgeMusic Campaign to help cover studio costs and tour support. Most of the incentives are from his personal collection, like rare vinyl and out-of-print albums he has been storing since the start of his career. Also available are paintings, a mural, a guitar from hishand-painted Godin line, an original song about your life, lifetime show passes, house concerts, and THE VAN that was seized and auctioned by the city of New York.
“I’m optimistic that new ways of doing things can lead to new forms of creativity and a smaller world community for artists to get to know their fans or for fans to become a more vital part in the process of artists creating their diamonds,” writes Joseph in his pledge letter. “I consider it a great privilege that I have any forum or audience at all. None of it has been lost on me.
